Each day, after a short meditation to greet the day followed by a delicious hot breakfast, we spend our mornings running and exploring the network of trails surrounding High Camp; plan on 5-10 miles with options for more or less as desired. Running at this altitude is much more about moving through the mountains and with the mountains, rather than running for speed or distance. Mountains offer us an opportunity to practice a deep humility and to listen to our bodies and the natural landscape for cues on how to travel farther and deeper, with less grind and more flow—a wisdom that applies to everything we do in life. Each afternoon, we’ll gather for guided writing sessions, where we’ll pour the mountains’ energy and our own momentum into our writing. Bring writing you’re working on, ideas you have for memoir or stories, or come with an open mind and a willingness to dive into your innate creativity. (No previous writing experience needed.) Late afternoons are devoted to personal time—soaking in the wood-fired hot tub in the meadow, self-guided wanders through the forest, quiet sitting, additional writing time, or just lying on your back looking at the sky. Movement, nature, creativity, stillness, solitude, conversation, and collaboration—these are the foundations of flow, and together we’ll explore simple and pleasurable daily practices to bring more ease and momentum, openness and wonder into your life at home.

In true alpine lodge style, accommodations are shared—two comfortable twin beds per room. The hut is powered by solar panels, and there is no internet—a true luxury! All meals and snacks are included and the menu will focus on organic, seasonal dishes geared toward the active mountain athlete, with an emphasis (though not exclusively) on plant-based ingredients. A daily yoga practice will be offered, as well as daily guided meditation.
This is a very special offering with limited spaces in a remote and gorgeous alpine environment. The mountains, weather, elements, and our fellow trip mates will be our inspiration and our teachers. A one-on-one post-retreat virtual coaching session with me is included to help you integrate our mountain flow into your home flow. All levels of runners and writers are invited to join. I look forward to sharing this most remarkable place with you.
